What's the Difference between a Portrait and a Headshot?

Different photographers will define portraits and headshots in slightly different ways, but I consider anything from a half-length to full-length photo a portrait and a head-and-shoulders photo a headshot.  Both will show you at your best, with an amazing expression, and great lighting.

Do I need a Professional Portrait or a Headshot?

Absolutely!  In today’s world where so much business is done online, a professional portrait or headshot is your digital calling card.  It can make the difference between being seen or overlooked in a saturated market.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF GETTING A PORTRAIT OR HEADSHOT LIKE?

All photographers work a bit differently.  My process is collaborative, enthusiastic, and FUN! 

During your session with me I show you the images in real time to make sure you LOVE the images we create together.

Do You Recommend a Make-Up Artist?

Yes, I do recommend a makeup artist for my female clients. There is an additional fee of $250 for a makeup artist and it can take up to sixty minutes whenever your session is scheduled to begin. You will pay the makeup artist separately via cash, Venmo, check, or card.

Fortunately, I work with many excellent makeup artists who understand how to apply makeup specifically for headshots and portraits.  If you choose to do your own makeup, the key is to keep everything simple, not use a lot of foundation, and not use a lot of dark color around the eyes.

Should I have my hair done before my Portrait or Headshot Session?

Yes! 

For ladies, I recommend having your hair done the day of the shoot for best results. 

For men, it’s best to get a haircut a day or two before your session to ensure your hair settles. 

I’VE SEEN YOUR RATES FOR INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS. DO YOU HAVE DIFFERENT RATES FOR GROUPS OR COMPANIES?

Yes!  Please contact me so I can provide you with a bid that is tailored to your needs.

WILL I RECEIVE ALL THE PHOTOS FROM THE SEESION?

No.  I promise you don’t want them.  I will be directing and coaching you the entire time.  I will not leave it up to you.

We will take breaks to review some shots.  This is another opportunity for me to coach you.  Also you will be able to see how it is going.  This session isn’t where we shoot and later you review the shots to choose some. I will make sure that you are happy with the direction we are going.

At the end of the session we’ll sit down together and go through the shots to choose the one you want.  This puts you in complete control of the final cost depending on how many images you require. (Each additional image you choose is $100 including professional retouching).

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

Cancellation or rescheduling of your session requires notice of a full seven days prior to your appointment for a refund of your reservation fee.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Pretty much anything except Bitcoin.  Cash, Venmo, checks, and credit cards.

Where is your Studio located?

My studio is conveniently located between Glendale and Burbank, with plenty of free street parking. Whether you live in Los Angeles or the surrounding areas, I’m in a centrally located area.
